Keira Knightley Buys $5m Apartment

Keira Knightley has defied the current economic downturn - by splashing out $5m on a new apartment. The British actress - who reportedly earned $32 million in 2007 - is believed to have bought the London property with her actor boyfriend Rupert Friend in the spring. The pair have apparently spent a further $400,000 on renovations, and are now ready to move in. A source reveals, “She wanted to move somewhere more bohemian and arty. “She fell in love with the house and can’t wait to have some dinner parties around there.”

Depp And Jolie For Next Batman Film?

Johnny Depp playing Edward Nigma aka The Riddler, Angelina Jolie playing Dr Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn…. at least that is what the fans are hoping for according to a recent survey undertaken by blockbuster.com. “Both Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie are actors who can bring a Batman villain to life in the complex, realistic style that have made Nolan’s films so popular,” said Keith Leopard, director of film product for Blockbuster Inc. “It would be exciting to see what they could do with The Riddler’s compulsive clue-giving and Harley Quinn’s transformation from brilliant therapist to psychotic criminal.” Other actors and characters coming up included the likes of Natalie Portman, Edward Norton and Keira Knightley along with Batman villains Cat Woman, The Penguin and tough guy Bane. Knightley urges human rights pride

British starlet Keira Knightley has called for the true meaning of “human rights” to be acknowledged on the 60th anniversary of the landmark UN declaration. The star of Atonement said the concept should be something to be proud of despite it having become “a bit of a loaded term in this country”. Knightley made the comments in support of Amnesty International’s Protect the Human campaign. A picture of the actress holding a banner carrying the campaign group’s slogan was released to coincide with the anniversary of the adoption of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
